“What I appreciate here is its embrace of Cornish character, extending to local ales and Hogs pudding at breakfast. It struck me that families would feel at home, with plenty of space for children and dogs to stretch out. Its location makes the most of the surrounding views and proximity to beaches and attractions, providing a solid base for exploring the area.”

The Engine Inn offers a cottage-like experience, particularly in the building at the back, where guests appreciate the spacious rooms equipped with both a double bed and a double pull-out sofa, some offering garden access with a kids' park and beautiful country views. Many enjoyed the tasty and reasonably priced food available for both dinner and breakfast, including a large breakfast option with butcher's sausage and lovely bacon. While the location is generally quiet with great views across the valley, a few guests have mentioned concerns regarding cleanliness.

Good stay in the countryside

cute atmosphereburning fireexcellent beereasy parking
I often visit this reopened pub. It is a pleasant spot with a cute atmosphere. The fire is usually burning, that is a real treat. The beer is well-kept. It tastes excellent. I found easy parking. The location is excellent, offering amazing views of the surrounding area. I was thankful for the warm welcome to a traditional pub.
I noticed a light fitting was slightly loose on the wall, and I hope it gets fixed soon.

Cozy Stay with Great Food

spacious roomtasty foodold building
The room was spacious with a double bed and a double pull out sofa. We booked breakfast and dinner, finding the food tasty and reasonably priced. The car park opposite the pub made parking simple.
The room is an old building so there is character, but it can be expected that the hotel has some issues.
Service

Staff at the pub were very chatty and friendly. They were available and eager to assist with any requests. The team ensured a cute environment for both dining and accommodation needs throughout my stay.
